Our Sustainability Approach
We are 100% committed to reducing our environmental impact. Our dedication to sustainability extends across every facet of our operations, from sourcing ingredients to packaging and offsetting our environmental footprint. We recognise the urgency of addressing environmental challenges, and we are steadfast in our mission to reduce our impact on the planet.
We proudly source all our ingredients from local Australian producers and farmers. This commitment ensures that we support local communities, reduce transportation emissions, and contribute to the vitality of our domestic agricultural industry.
We also have a zero-waste policy, ensuring that no produce goes to waste. By carefully managing our inventory and collaborating with local partners, we actively minimise our environmental impact.
In alignment with our values, we have eliminated the use of single-use plastics in all aspects of our business. Our packaging materials are either reusable or home compostable, promoting a circular economy and reducing the burden on landfills and oceans.
Zero Waste Container: Return, Refill, Reuse, Repeat. Feel good about every meal, you can bring back empty containers or leave them on your front porch for a collection for a credit on your next purchase. All the returned containers will be recycle back into stock.
BioCane Compostable Container: Made from rapidly renewable sugarcane pulp, a by-product of the sugar refining industry. They are microwave, oven and freezer friendly.
Biodegradable Tape, Recyclable Liner, Ice Pack and Box.
Investing in a Sustainable Future
We understand that sustainability comes at a cost, but we believe it's an investment in our collective future. Therefore, we source from partners who share our commitment to sustainable practices. We prioritise building long-term relationships with suppliers who demonstrate a genuine dedication to environmental responsibility.
Wherever possible, we proactively work to reduce our carbon footprint. For example, all our cooking is done on electric induction cooktops rather than gas or large high powered commercial ovens. This approach is in line with the Australian Energy Councils move to an all-electric directive and the Gas Substitution roadmap.
We actively engage with our local communities to foster awareness and understanding of sustainable practices. By collaborating with like-minded organisations and participating in community events, we aim to inspire positive change beyond the confines of our business.
LilFood is dedicated to a process of continuous improvement in sustainability. We regularly review and update our practices to incorporate the latest innovations and advancements in environmental stewardship.
